In NIMO’s first AMA, four Pioneer Program members—Bo, Matt, Micheal, and Rajaan—shared how they use local AI for privacy, software development, creative work, and everyday computing.
Instead of focusing on specifications, the conversation revealed what users are actually building with NIMO products.
Keeping AI Personal
Bo runs local agents that can work with information about himself and his family. Keeping those services at home gives him greater control over where that information lives.
“Being able to run the full gamut of services in AI land all inside my four walls was really super cool.”
Matt also uses local text and image generation for personal and work-related tasks:
“It’s nice to keep it in your own sphere, keep it private, keep it personal.”
Their message was not that local AI must replace the cloud. It is about giving users the choice to keep certain data and workflows on their own devices.
Building Real Software with Local AI
Micheal uses several devices as one development environment. A smaller model on his laptop can establish the first structure of a project, while a larger model on his NIMO mini PC handles deeper code work.
“It allows me to work on multiple projects at once, at different stages of the project.”
This workflow helped him create a tool that packages HTML, Python, C++, and other projects into executable files and installers:
“It’s literally three clicks of a button and you can have a .exe ready to go.”
His experience shows how local AI can move beyond experimentation and help users build practical tools.
A Private AI Service at Home
For Bo, Nexus Pro became more than a storage system. After adding a GPU, he began turning it into an image-generation service that other applications on his home network could access.
“I wanted to have it basically be a little image vending machine for any other services in my network.”
Rajaan described Nexus Pro as:
“A server-class machine that you can run at home without too much of the noise issue.”
These ideas show how storage, local agents, and generation services can come together in one private home environment.
Different Devices, Different Roles
The AMA also demonstrated how each NIMO product can play a distinct role:

Bo described Axis as his “ultimate daily driver,” while Matt connected GME1S to an exceptionally compact laptop and called the result:
“A little portable AI that you could toss in a bag.”
The four Pioneer setups were not identical—and that was the point. NIMO provides the building blocks, while each user decides how local AI fits into their life.
